next to the petaluma river and i saw a little bit of a sheen going across the top of the river and over there by the bridge on washington street you can see that way boom they put up there and officials tell us that anywhere from 200 up to 600 gallons of oil they believed was spilled into the petaluma river they put up this containment boom to keep it from spreading into new areas while they try and clean up this mess. a official say this is what caused the oil spill, a 90-ton tugboat sticking out of the petaluma river making gallons of oil from its hole and they discovered that spill after getting a call at 8:18 this morning's. >> we noticed a large dark substance this morning. >> reporter: eye this afternoon to sheen had sped along a two and a half mile stretch of the river and they put down booms and put pads into the water to soak up the

mess. the california department of fish and game says the river does have endangered wildlife such as salmon and frog's. >> we have identified three areas of large to normal concern that being adobe creek in the area around the alice creek treatment plant. >> near the spill site crews tore apart of the boat investigators say an alameda- based company had been dismantling the tub for scrap metal. they had one boom around the boat and they do not know how long it was leaking oil or whether they have proper permits. >> i had no indication that the fire department was informed of this operation but come monday that will come about. >> reporter: they did warn holiday borders at marina and other docs of. >> there is a lot of voting going around, i would not going to water but it's a nice river. >> reporter: so far they have had no support of oiled birds

or water -- or wildlife and it will be monitoring the situation overnight and will resume cleanup efforts tomorrow morning. reporting live in petaluma, jana katsuyama, k. to. >> a man scaled a 60 story building late this afternoon and police arrested him just after he finished his klein. he is a daredevil who calls himself "skyscaperman" print he is known for stunts and have scaled the tallest building in the us that used to be called the sears tower in chicago. officers were waiting for him at the top of the williams tower today. they probably took him into custody but not before he unfurled an american flag preaching made the climb using ropes and suction cups. police are investigating the body of a man that was

found. there was a large pool party at the hotel and some 400 people were at that party. police say they heard shots but did not see exactly what happened. the body of the 26 old man was found in some bushes behind the hotel on gateway boulevard. police say he was from the antioch brentwood area. investigators are back at it two days sifting through mounds of trash searching for any signs of frederick seles. the 35-year-old man is a missing man who says it may be that they think victim in a string of killings and may have met the same fate done that three of his father in the search could go on for the next few days. a two year old boy is hospitalized after being hit by a car in sonoma county. he was struck shortly past noon in the parking lot of a taqueira and he was taken to the children's hospital with injuries described as major.

armed robbers terrified workers at six flags discovery kingdom in vallejo and now as rob roth reports investigators are trying to determine if it was inside job. >> reporter: the robbery happened inside six flags at about 11:00 p.m. last night hours after the park had closed the. >> two are the subjects were dressed with a black hooded sweatshirts and they have a bandanna up over the top of their faces so you cannot see what they looked like. they were armed with semiautomatic handguns. >> reporter: investigators say that they had picked a lock in an employee area and scaled a fence and pointed their guns at three employees who were gathering banks of cash receipts and yelled at them's. >> get down on the ground, get down on the ground! >> reporter: they say yesterday was a busy day here in park officials say there are no surveillance cameras but perhaps nearby. >> we were told that there were

some surveillance cameras in the park and we are looking to see if they have been able to capture the subjects i don't. >> reporter: investigators are not sure whether the armed robbery was an inside job but they didn't seem to know a lot about the operations here. this is the second time in about six weeks that six flags was the victim of a robbery. in july a holdup of awkward and money was taken. six flags says it is reviewing its security procedures here. the former ceo of hewlett- packard became the resident of oracle today. mark hurd will report to the ceo and oracle founder preheat was fired last month after a sexual harassment investigation pg has been one of his strongest defenders. and the former ebay ceo meg whitman has received the endorsement of the california chamber of congress and led the
